I had an absolutely wonderful evening at Valevitsata Tavern. From the moment we walked in, the warm and traditional Bulgarian atmosphere made us feel instantly welcome — the interior is beautifully authentic, and the friendly staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The menu offers a huge variety of local dishes, and we tried several — from rich lamb soup to hearty grilled meats and katchamak with cheese — all cooked to perfection with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The service was excellent: attentive, kind, and efficient, and the portions were generous. We also enjoyed a selection of local wine and the unique homemade rakia, which paired perfectly with the food. The live music in the background added a lovely touch to the evening without being overwhelming. Overall, this tavern delivered some of the best traditional Bulgarian cuisine we had in Bansko, and we will definitely be returning on our next visit! Highly recommended for anyone wanting an authentic and delicious meal in a relaxed setting!

We’ve been in the restaurante after skiing and we had the most amazing experience from the space until the food (that was so far the best we had in Bulgaria!!!). The traditional dishes were just amazing and the portion was huge! George has assisted us with impeccable customer service, making us feel inside the whole experience. Absolutely worth! We will be back for sure.

Amazing atmosphere, open fire & traditional decor everywhere. The musicians put on such a fun show and interacted with us all! And finally, the food itself was spectacular. Definitely not one to miss!

Mehana Valevitsata is easily one of the best restaurants in Bansko — a place where authentic Bulgarian spirit, warm hospitality and exceptional food come together perfectly. The atmosphere is magical, both inside and in the beautiful garden, decorated with so much love and attention to detail. The traditional interior feels like a journey back in time, and the live music adds even more charm. The service is outstanding — kind, attentive and genuinely welcoming. Our waiter was fantastic: always smiling, helpful and making sure everything was perfect. And the food… simply delicious. We left with full stomachs and happy hearts. This restaurant is a true gem. Highly recommended — you will not be disappointed!
