St. Ivan Rilski SPA Resort - Half Board & All Inclusive в Банско

This is our third stay at St. Ivan Rilski, and we are already planning a fourth. The staff are consistently lovely, attentive and swift at resolving any issues. The rooms offer great value, and the Spa is the perfect retreat after a day on the slopes - the Spa team, in particular, is incredibly accommodating. While the food remains a highlight (despite one minor blip), and the shuttle service to the gondola is exceptionally reliable and convenient, we did have one disappointment this year. The new policy regarding the in-room coffee machines feels like a step backward. Having to purchase and request pods in advance, rather than having them provided, feels a bit 'cheap' for a hotel of this caliber. It’s not about the cost, but the inconvenience of having to track them down ruins the premium experience. Aside from that, it was another wonderful stay. PS I have just seen a review alleging that the Spa is small. That’s absolutely not the case. Having stayed at several other hotels in Bansko (including Kempinski), the Spa is probably normal size for the resort with plenty of space for rest (and heated beds) and 2 saunas and 2 steam baths. It certainly never felt overcrowded and was very enjoyable.

The hotel is extremely overrated. It looks luxurious and expensive, but it feels very cheap. The spa is small, the outdoor pools are not warm enough, and some of the spa rooms were not operating. The place may look good in photos, but it is not worth the price. They have a herbal sauna, but it is not very good and the scent is too strong and artificial. The only good room was the Finnish sauna. There is no salt room. However, the staff is friendly and welcoming!

Everything about our stay was outstanding. The hygiene was impeccable, and the food was of top-quality, fresh and very well prepared. A special mention goes to the staff, especially the reception team – extremely kind, professional, and genuinely welcoming. They made us feel comfortable and well taken care of from the very first moment. The atmosphere was warm and relaxing, and the overall service exceeded our expectations. We would definitely return and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for comfort, quality, and true hospitality.

We stayed at Hotel Ivan’s and unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. I do not recommend this hotel and suggest avoiding it. At the pool, they charge extra for every towel, which is not clearly communicated and is unacceptable for a hotel. No one entered our room for cleaning during the entire week of our stay. The towels were not changed, the room was not cleaned, and we had to buy our own toilet paper from the supermarket. The room was not very clean, and the radiator was constantly leaking. When we informed the staff, they simply shrugged their shoulders and did nothing to fix the problem. At the restaurant, breakfast prices vary from one day to another without any clear explanation, which is confusing and unprofessional. Overall, the value for money is very poor. We will not return and do not recommend this hotel.

We recently celebrated Christmas and New Year at St. Ivan Rilski Hotel in Bansko, and it was fantastic. The food was excellent—delicious variety, high quality, and festive flair. The program was engaging and well organized, keeping everyone entertained throughout the holidays. A standout for us was the very nice kids’ disco, which kept the little ones thrilled and delighted. Warm pool water and superb service completed a flawless stay. Highly recommended!
