We had a 7-day stay at this hotel and here’s what we noticed: 🏖️ 🏠The room was reasonably sized, equipped with a bed made up of two separate mattresses (a bit uncomfortable, especially if you're sharing it with a partner), a small TV, an old and rather weak air conditioner. If you left it running for hours, it eventually started cooling the room, but in my opinion, it wasn’t really effective. There was also a small pull-out sofa. 📍The bathroom was the biggest disappointment — it was extremely small, the shower had no cabin or curtain, just a basic handheld showerhead, which meant you would splash water all over the place. The drain was next to the toilet, so you had to wait quite a while for the floor to dry before using the bathroom again. The toilet itself was very unstable and squeaked from every angle, and the hairdryer was just as small and old, with almost no drying power. 📍The balcony was okay, but there was no drying rack for towels. You had to hang them over the balcony railing and just hope they wouldn’t fall from the 6th floor. 📍The cleanliness was okay — the room was cleaned daily, and the towels were changed every three days (two small and two large). Personally, I think there should have been an extra towel or bath mat to step on when coming out of the bathroom, which was always wet after even a short shower. (We ended up using one of the small towels just to step on with our feet.) 📍The hotel has an indoor pool, which was clean and overall we had a pleasant time there. However, the number of sunbeds is limited, and people “reserve” them as early as 7 AM (some even during the night) by placing their towels on them — something that didn’t seem quite fair to us. Some guests would leave their towels on a sunbed and then go to the beach for hours, just to make sure they’d have a spot by the pool when they returned. 📍Food – All-Inclusive Experience We were expecting the food to be very good, especially from an all-inclusive hotel, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations — we were quite disappointed. While there were a decent number of options, most dishes were bland — and I really want to emphasize just how flavorless they were. A lot of the food seemed to be frozen, deep-fried, and overly greasy. During our first days, we were excited to see pork and chicken schnitzels — but what we got was thick, tough pork meat with some breadcrumbs on top. It was the same story with other dishes. Even the desserts were a letdown — they looked nice on the outside, but once you took a bite, they had no taste and usually stayed on the plate. Overall, the food was a real letdown. Drinks were available all day, but even those weren’t impressive — most tasted like diluted flavored water. 📍Also, it’s worth mentioning that the food was not available all the time. Meals were served at fixed hours, so it wasn’t truly “at your convenience.” As for the “famous” 4 PM ice cream — there’s really nothing special about it. It came from a machine and was more like melted soft serve. It probably had some flavor, but by the time it came out of the machine, it was basically liquid. ☀️The sea is relatively close, but in the way back you have to climb quite a steep hill (a classic Bulgarian thing :))) ) 📍The staff was generally nice, but communication in English was difficult.It was nice, but we wouldn’t come back.

The "all inclusive" package made us skip every breakfast and dinner. Chicken was raw, the rest of the food of ambiguous nature, so bad I sat there and cried over how dehumanizing it felt. The best it got was plain pasta. The bathrooms were an experience, with the shower not separated from the rest of the bathroom, making sure everything was drenched in water at all times. We arrived at the hotel around 4 am and were given complimentary "sandwiches", which were also too ambiguous to even look at and made us want to book a flight back right upon arrival. On the way to the hotel there were dead cats, sliced open and eaten by flies. What saved us was taking a bus to Varna every day. This was the worst possible way of spending money I can think of and made me not trust a traveling agency's recommendation ever again. This happened last summer, but the experience was so awful, it still lingers. I ended up spending so much money combined that for the price it could've been a luxury resort, but sadly, it wasn't. These accomodation standards and hotel stars are an insult to the entire hospitality industry.

It was our second stay in hotel Detelina 10.-17.8. Everything is fantastic there. Staff- everybody very kind , helpful and always with smile. Food- there was always something that we could choose and that we really liked. Room- our room was every day clean . Just a perfect service in the hotel . We really enjoyed our time in this hotel and we will for sure come back next year. So for us just perfect holidays . We miss all of you already . Petra and Edgard

It is very, very difficult to construct the review .....ok, so the food is all inclusive 🤢, the same thing every day, the eggs in the morning are sometimes not cooked properly, the orange juice is just cordial, the all inclusive is honestly the cheapest possible food you can imagine.... it's very expensive for what it is and was not good value at all...., the staff..... they are really amazing ! Can't do enough to help you. The facilities...., the pool has green mould on it and children go in it.., the rooms are clean and not bad at all...., the balcony is ewwww. Location can not imagine a worse location for a beach hotel outside about 750 meters away, and it's a hike going to it. It's downhill, BUT coming back, it's a real hiking experience, and if you're already a bit tired, it's about 25 minutes walking up a steep incline......., But again...., I make comments on the factual aspects, the hotel itself is a bit tired and old but it has its charms...., would I stay there again...., no, BUT that's only because I'm a snob! But the bed was comfortable and clean, the room is very, very dated ( 1980s). The toilet was ok.... but the shower is just cheap plastic with water running all over. The shower curtain is mouldy and quite nasty The staff are great, the food is just plain nasty, the facilities are a health hazard....., but it has its charms

The best hotel. We stayed here for 1 week and we had the time of our lives. Firstly, we were greeted by a short cute girl at reception. She was very polite and helpful. We became friends. The rooms were luxurious, clean and comfortable. We had sea view. Also housekeeping ladies are cute. The restaurant was clean and the food was out of this world. Traditional Bulgarian style food. The staff at the restaurant was polite. The waiters and waitresses are young, energetic and beautiful. The boys at the bar were very nice and friendly. We drank a lot of cocktails and beer. The pool is big and there’s a cool lifeguard. There’s also a parrot named Lucky, very friendly and quiet. The management is amazing. The beach is 5 minutes away from the hotel. Overall, one of the best vacations we’ve ever had. Definitely returning next year! Love you, Detelina Hotel❤️🍀
