After discovering the restaurant by chance, I knew I had to visit it again! Komat Restaurant is definitely worth the trip! In my case, I travelled there from Germany. The atmosphere is relaxed yet elegant. I cannot emphasise enough how professional and exceptionally good the service was. The food is creative, unusual, finely balanced and beautifully presented. The value for money is excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant for everyone visiting Sofia!

What a wonderful gem! Spacious, comfortable, with sophisticated contemporary atmosphere. The food is beautifully presented, locally sourced, and delicious. The service is also exceptional and classy. The location is a little out of the way - definitely use a taxi at night. But it's a great find at reasonable prices for the value. Would visit again any time.

I was truly delighted to visit this restaurant and to see that such a place exists here in Sofia, Bulgaria. Although the location is far from ideal and appears to be in a rather run-down part of the city, the food and the service more than make up for it. We were first welcomed with homemade bread served with kvass and flavored butters — a lovely complimentary touch. For the starter, we chose the Mixed Greens Salad with pear, walnut, elderflower vinaigrette, mustard, and a new ingredient we tried for the very first time — green cheese from Cherni Vit. This unique cheese is produced only in and around the village of Cherni Vit, in the Teteven Municipality, Lovech District, in the Balkan Mountains. It is one of the few naturally mold-ripened cheeses in Europe and the only one of its kind in the Balkans. The salad was absolutely delicious. For the main course, we had duck, perfectly cooked and served with a superb sauce. Dessert was another highlight — one chocolate-based and another with sour cherries — both beautifully presented and incredibly tasty. We really appreciated that the waiter took the time to share the story behind each dish, which made the whole experience even more special. Although the service is rather slow, it feels intentional — this is the kind of place where you come to savor the food, not to rush through a meal. The portions were very reasonably sized. Overall, a wonderful culinary experience, and will definitely be coming back!

Fabulous high end meal. For starters we had red peppers with tomatoes. They were ok, would be better if not chilled as much which restricted the taste and they needed some bread/crisp and a spoon for the consome. Also we had the green salad which was good, only lacking in presentation. But the rock bass main course with shrimp bisque was just delightful, and the deserts were both very good too. The highlight being a sour cherry sorbet. House wines by the glass were both good. Service efficient and friendly. Ambiance - well a matter of taste but Whitney Houston is not my taste! But I would 100 percent recommend KOMAT and we had a lovely celebration meal to mark the end of a 6 week journey.

This place is amazing! The food is seasonal, they use the production of Bulgarian farms and you can really taste the flavors in every dish. The staff are so nice and kind, we really enjoyed our dinner and will be coming back for sure!
