Having both adopted my dog Nell, and volunteered at Street Hearts twice I can honestly say you would be hard pushed to find a more professional, transparent, ethical and responsible rescue charity. They are the polar opposite of all the negative accounts portrayed in the media about foreign rescues! They are fully compliant with all of the health, welfare and transportation standards. All of their dogs have in depth behavioural assessments that are ongoing throughout their time in the shelter. The dogs are extremely well prepared for rehoming by the time they are put on the adoption page. This preparation includes being confident around people including being handled, lead walking, socialisation with other dogs, being taken into to town to get used to traffic noise, people, children, building work etc and all have spent time in a home environment. Their adoption process is extremely thorough and they will only rehome dogs with people they think are a good match. The post adoption support is second to none with lifetime rescue back up and behavioural support. They really do go above and beyond to set both dogs and humans up for adoption success! If you are thinking about welcoming a dog into your home I can't recommend Street Hearts highly enough!

I had the absolute pleasure of volunteering at Street Hearts BG for 7 amazing weeks this year. During my time there I fell in love with a pup and I am now a proud Street Heart BG dog owner. The work Emma, Anthony and the entire team do there is done with so much care and love for each and every animal. If you are looking to adopt a foreign rescue, I highly recommend Street Hearts. The adoption process is extremely thorough, they have two high tech temperature controlled vans for each transport trip and Emma, Lauren and Laura have an amazing talent in matching the right owners to each dog.

We waited 2 months to adopt Pretzel and she has been with us for 3 weeks now. The adoption process was very clear and thorough with interviews, home check, video calls meeting the dog and photo/ video updates along the way. Everyone at Street Hearts BG are kind, passionate and full of loving and care for the dogs. Three weeks on Pretzel starts coming out of her shell and becomes a very busy body in our family. Running up and down and around the house following everyone. Thank you for bringing Pretzel to us.

I just wanted to say that Emma and Anthony do incredible work and deserve all the praise for the wonderful work they have done over the years. Our beautiful Peggy was rescued by Street Hearts BG and she has been living with us here in Manchester for over five years now and for such a nervous dog she has gone from strength to strength and is the sweetest dog anyone could ever wish for . My wife and I adopted Richie from street hearts 1 year and 9 months ago. Emma, Anthony and the whole team were extremely helpful and knowledgable about pairing us with the perfect dog to suit our life style and just as importantly suiting little Richie’s. The last (nearly 2 years) have flown by with Richie. Since the first day we got him he has been a ball of energy and the perfect dog to fit into our little family. He is a great motivation to ensure we (or at least one of us!) get up and walk him 2-3 times as day. Street hearts were also very supportive after we received Richie. We couldn’t have wished for a better dog! 🐶
