I rarely write reviews, but this one really rubbed me the wrong way because I’ve been a regular here for years. Disappointing experience this time. The service was really poor - I was sitting right next to the barista and she didn’t even hand me my drink. When I asked about the matcha latte, she confirmed their recipe uses 1 gram of matcha, which is way too little - the minimum for a proper matcha latte is 2 grams. The drink was a huge glass of milk, pale green and basically tasteless. For €3.50 (which is steep for Sofia), that’s not okay. It’s a shame to see both the quality and service drop like this.

As a regular customer it is time to give some stars🤩 I love BUG and as a coffee lover it is amongst the best I have tried around Europe. Of course it’s a matter of taste and it also depends on the variety of coffee, roast, acidity etc. Ask the barista depending on your taste so you get what you are looking for. They have a wide range of single-origin coffees (maybe around 10?) and two house blends (Kultura & Kalinka). They will recommend which blend or single origin to use for your drink of preference. They offer some sweets with gluten-free and Keto options. Cozy, quiet and unpretentious atmosphere, which is rare!! ❤️❤️❤️ They roast themselves and supply other cafes/businesses in BG, with a careful selection of coffees from small farms around the world.

The flat white I ordered was expertly crafted—smooth, rich, and just the right balance of milk and espresso. It's clear the team here takes pride in both their roasting and brewing. Their attention to detail, from the choice of beans to the friendliness behind the counter, makes this café a standout. The vibe is a perfect mix of local charm and third-wave coffee sophistication. Plants hanging above, locally roasted coffee on display, and a Mahlkönig grinder humming away—all signs you’re in the right place for serious coffee and good energy. Whether you're just waking up or taking a break on a brisk walk, BuG is a must-visit. Can’t wait to come back!

Great coffee (to have and beans to take home) and also some desserts. Friendly staff, clean toilet, payment by cars available. The place is small but some tables are available inside and outside.
