Another "whistleblower" here: As a 5th year Medical Student here is what I have to say: Excellent university. If you attend lectures, study well, and be a responsible student - you will pass. The professors speak English and Bulgarian, they are always keen to help. Many students will come on here to complain about the university "unjustly" failing them and "mocking" them (usually after getting caught cheating/ or simply the students inability to tolerate Bulgarian humour.) The usual reason is they didn't study well enough and have continuously failed exams even though the university allows for multiple resits - unlike countries such as the UK and elsewhere - however I'm sure there are certian circumstances where a professor just might have a vendetta against a certain student 😂. It's simple, if you don't know the subject and haven't prepared well, you will fail the subject it's medicine after all and nobody said it was easy! 😁

Whistleblower here. If you're planning to study medicine abroad, I strongly recommend exploring options outside Bulgaria. I chose a different medical school in Bulgaria that, at the time, appeared less corrupt than Medical University of Sofia (MUS). My personal experience with MUS admissions process raised serious red flags. After speaking to a graduate who felt unprepared to practice as they had little to no clinical experience and a current student who told me professors can fail students for arbitrary reasons, I decided to look elsewhere. Would a graduate risk their reputation by posting something like this? No. Would a current student risk being failed by a professor to speak up? Absolutely not. This is your friendly warning. The entrance exam process felt more like a moneymaking scheme than a true evaluation of merit. It's supposedly competitive, but in reality, anyone who pays the exam fee seems to get in. There’s no restricted intake — more students just mean more money. If anyone who pays the fee gets accepted, what does that say about the integrity of the process — or the education itself? At the admissions office they even gave me the answers to the entry exam, which was conducted online and open to easy cheating. I applied independently — without using an agent — and it became obvious the system wasn’t designed for that. Staff at the admissions office were confused, and only two spoke basic English. Earlier in the process, I had briefly spoken to an agent who claimed that applying to Bulgarian medical universities was “too complicated” to do alone. He even offered to adjust my school grades for an extra €100 — something I refused immediately. That was the moment I started to realise that the system wasn’t built on fairness or merit. If you want to become a well-trained, competent doctor, I strongly recommend choosing another country altogether.
Виж в GoogleAs a former dental student, please look at other options if you want your sanity and mental health unaffected(in a bad way). If you consider it, STOP.
Виж в GoogleThey treat students in the horrible, disrespectful way, they try to force them to fail to stay for another year. If you get difficult questions on the exam they’d laugh and point finger on you. Another thing is you must find big amount of patients for your practical exams, literally you are forced to beg people on the street or in the internet to come and let be treated by you. But if you find Bulgarian, examiner would stole him from you and move to Bulgarian students. Some examiners are rude, racist and chauvinistic old people who should retire and stop haunting students ! Please don’t go to this horrible place
